Our weekend and holiday operations run a bit differently than during the week. We have generous and dedicated faith groups and civic organizations who volunteer to purchase, prepare and serve the meal. We have a weekend supervisor from the Samaritan Center who opens up the facility and lends a hand where needed.

The meal is served from 1:30 - 2:30, making the minimum time actually at the Samaritan Center from 12:00 - 3:00. If your group cooks the meal off-site, expect to arrive between 11:30 and 12:00. If your group needs to use our facilities in order to cook the meal, then expect to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30.

If you've never cooked for this many people before, we can work with your group to help plan the meal. We have groups that have been serving for many years now, and we would also be happy to contact them for you to gather some sample recipes.  Groups should plan for fruit, salad, bread, an entree (including meat, vegetable and starch), juice, coffee and paper products.

Because our weekend and holiday groups buy their own food and supplies, there is a financial donation that the group makes. Serving between 150 and 250 meals a weekend generally costs around $500.  Because the number of meals served varies throughout the month, we'll help you decide on how many meals to plan for.
